Fiddlehead Mitten Pattern

The pattern is now available as a PDF for $5.95 through Ravelry. Here’s all the pattern info and a purchase link. I accept PayPal and credit cards through my usual PayPal. The pattern isn’t for sale through the Hello Yarn shopping cart because that charges shipping and we don’t want that!

Thanks, everyone! Let me know if you have any questions that aren’t addressed on the info page.

ETA: I’ll still be doing kits for these. I’ve been worrying on re-dyeing the green colorway from the great disaster, when the cart sold way more kits than I had. Those will ship this week, along with the fiber club, and then it will be back to business as usual, with actual yarn for sale, and hand-dyed fiber, and more mitten kits. Thanks!

ETA 2: I’m all set up on Ravelry. Ravellers and non-Ravellers alike can purchase through Ravelry. This service is still in the testing phase, so let me know if it gives you any guff (it shouldn’t). Thanks!

Fiddleheads Progress & Fiber Club

I had grand plans of having the fiber club dyed and shipped before I went to SPA last weekend, but the Fiddlehead Mitten Kit Disaster of 2008 put a damper on things. I’m almost done dyeing and things should be ready to start shipping on Monday, putting February’s club in March. Whoops. Can we blame it on the short month? Probably not. I apologize, and rest assured, your club is not lost in the mail. I just haven’t sent it yet. The fiber is glorious this month and the colorway is crazypants (in a good way), hopefully making this all very much worth the wait.

The Fiddlehead Mittens pattern will be ready very soon. I’m excited to be able to offer it for sale through Ravelry. You don’t need to be member to buy through the site, but if you are, you can save the pattern in your library there, which is so handy if you lose your printed copy. I’ll keep everyone posted. It should be ready in a week or less.

I’ve got SO MUCH going on lately that I haven’t had a moment to spare for blogging. It’s so sad. I did start a new knitting project at SPA.

Just so this isn’t a picture-less post, that’s the swatch. If you recognize it, shhhhh. I will make a big fat post about it soon.

Misc.

I’ll be at SPA in Freeport, Maine this weekend. If you’re going, I’ll see you there! I won’t be vending, just playing, but I’ll be hanging around with Amy Boogie. She’s vending. I’m the one in overalls and lime green and orange glasses. She’s the “tattooed goober”, to quote her. Say hi! :)

The Fiddlehead Mittens pattern testing has been going well.

Fiddlehead Mittens
Test knit in Rowan Scottish (Harris) Tweed DK by Stacie. Lining is Blue Sky Alpacas Brushed Suri (hubba hubba).

Fiddlehead Mittens
Made by Julia from Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light with a Rowan Kidsilk Haze lining.

Stacie caught a mistake. On page 2, in the LINING section, it should read:

Begin decreasing for top of mitten.
*K4, K2TOG* around, K3, K2TOG.
Knit 3 rounds plain.

I’ll put this on the mitten kit shop page and on the patterns page.

See more photos here.

The pattern is coming very soon!
