“Fluttering of Ravens”: A Year of Birds Month 5
This month’s bird is the Common Raven. This month’s challenge was finding a lot of color in an essentially black bird!
Photo by Stephen Hartley. I’m glad you took such a lovely photo, Stephen. Ravens remember people who took unflattering photos of them.
Painting by Kiki Hall. Kiki, you really captured the intelligence!
Colors dragged out of a photo of a black bird by me.
The fiber this month is Charollais. This is a French breed with wool that is around 30 microns and a short- about 2 inches long- staple. It is VERY crimpy and feels like a sponge- super fun. Woolen spinning will be fun on this one!
