Picnik

Picnik is an online photo editing tool and it rocks! If you don’t have software like Photoshop to edit photos with, this might be just the ticket for you. I’m mentioning this site because before I got Photoshop, I tried every free image editor I could find and they were all unsatisfactory. You can do a whole lot with Picnik, however. There’s a dashboard with the usual editing stuff, like exposure, color saturation, and cropping, then there’s a dashboard with fun stuff like vignetting, lomo-izing, etc. You can then save to your computer or upload directly to Flickr, Picassa, or Facebook.

I’m going to give it a bash while I’m on vacation and away from my awesome Photoshop.

Yeah, having started with Photoshop, I have had a hard time with the free editors out there, too. I finally dumped GIMP because I could never get it to resize things the way I wanted. I recently signed up for one of the online ones and liked it, but now I have forgotten which one it was. Hopefully they sent me a confirmation email and hopefully I can find it. :) Whoops.

I’ve been using Picnik for about two weeks and I’m really liking it. It’s simple and intuitive and I can access it from any computer. Being able to upload or download straight from Flickr is also a huge plus.

Thanks for the link (looks like a good tool for on the run)… I get spoiled at work with CS3, but at home it might do the trick.

Hope you have a great and relaxing vacation!
