You’ll need:
*yarn: Dale of Norway Hauk in natural (contrast color) and black
(main color)- one skein each, plus a bit of scrap yarn for thumb
placement (You can sub another sport
weight wool if you prefer. You'll need about 100 meters of each
color.)
*needles: US 3 double pointed needles, or long circular for magic
loop, or whatever size you need for gauge
* size: to fit a small/medium woman’s hand , 8" circumference, 12"
from
tip to bottom edge
* gauge: 6 sts. and 6 rows = 1" in stockinette
*I've provided a plain palm pattern and
a palm with the year. Do both the same, one of each, or one with
the date and one with your initials!
*I'm thinking the best way to change the
size would be to knit these in different yarn weights. 8 sts.
per inch (fingering weight) would make one 6" around and 5 sts. per
inch (worsted weight) would do 9.5" around, etc.
**Please print the English version, as well, to get the graphics
portion of the pattern.
I'm not responsible for the content of the French pattern. I
can't read it! I also can't help you with any problems you may
have in knitting it in French. If you can speak English, then
I'm happy to help. French translation provided by Niqui of
