“Stop the Pigeon”: A Year of Birds Month 10
May’s bird is a Rock Pigeon. Isn’t it gorgeous? Despite its beauty, all I could think of while I was Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines.
Thank you so much, Stephen, for your beautiful photo.
Kiki has been having some technical difficulties, so her painting will be here soon.
This month’s fiber is a Merino wool grown on the Falkland Islands. The regular Falkland fiber we have is a mix of different breeds combined to make some of my favorite fiber. This one is all Merino. It’s very soft (21-ish micron) and plump and fluffy with a silky hand.
Rather than have a mainly white fiber with dots of color, I took many beautiful colors from the bird in the photo (its eyes!) and filled up the fiber with them.
I hope you love it.
